Michael Akhras

Michael Akhras, PhD, has over 15 years of experience in the Life Science industry with a focus on technology development for Precision Medicine. He spent +5 years of research at Stanford University and holds a PhD in Biotechnology from KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Currently a partner in Colibri Ventures and business advisor for biotech startup Basic Genomics. Previously a business coach at Karolinska Institutet Innovations. Michael, while working at Karolinska Institute, co-founded the Swedish national initiative Genomics Medicine Sweden (GMS) in 2017. He also co-founded Strike Pharma in 2020, a True Precision Medicine spinout company from Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab) and Uppsala University. Michael furthermore created, hosted, and co-organized the popular Life Science seminar series Clinical Talks with some 80 speakers. He is motivated by the positive societal effects new technology can impact our lives and contribute to a sustainable future for upcoming generations.
