Prof. Dr. Dimosthenis Andreou is a Consultant Orthopedic Oncologist and Chair of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Sarcoma Treatment and Research at the University Hospital Essen, Germany, and specialises in the surgical treatment of bone and soft tissue sarcoma. He is currently the Chairman of the Surgical Working Group of the Euro-Ewing-Consortium and Co-Chair of the Bone Sarcoma Working Group of the German Sarcoma Foundation, as well as an active member of several national and international societies and groups.
Prof. Dr. Andreou has authored and co-authored over 100 publications in peer reviewed journals on orthopedics and (orthopedic) oncology, and has written several book chapters in the field. His main research interests include the optimization of local therapy in the context of multidisciplinary treatment of bone and soft tissue sarcomas, as well as the Health-Related Quality of Life aspects of treatment.
